  • If you receive your plants early in spring, grow them on in their bio-pot until plenty of leaves are showing. Keep compost moist in the pot and place in a sunny spot outside or on a windowsill.
  • When it comes to planting outside, choose a sunny position and plant in well manured, rich soil (next to the compost heap is ideal)
  • Dig a good-sized hole and plant 90cm apart.

How to Grow Rhubarb

  • Next autumn when the plant dies down remove dead leaves and mulch with well-rotted manure or garden compost.

How to Harvest Rhubarb

  • Rhubarb is easy to care for and should be productive for up to ten years.
  • You can harvest your plants next spring after they have had a year to establish.
  • Harvest Stalks when they are green or red
  • No need to chop them with a knife, simply pull or twist the stalks, this will encourage new growth as well.
