Chamomile produces pretty daisy like white and yellow flowers in the summer, this herb is bursting with healthy vitamins and looks wonderful when in full bloom. It is a hardy perennial that will come back year after year.

How to Plant Chamomile
- Ours is a German variety, which grows upright rather than spreading – it is used for making tea as opposed to planting a chamomile lawn
- Perfect for pots, or at the front of beds and borders.
- Choose a sunny spot
- Plant 25-30cm apart
- If growing in pots, 1 plant to a 15-20cm pot is about right, or 2-3 plants in a 30cm pot
How to Grow Chamomile
- Keep them watered during dry spells
- For longer flowering time, deadhead regularly.
- Cut back to 5cm above ground level at the end of autumn.
- Plants will easily re-seed, so leave them to produce seeds if you want extra plants to grow, or keep dead-heading to keep things under control!
- Plants in pots may benefit from a liquid season once or twice during the summer.
How to Harvest Chamomile
- Harvest flowers at full bloom to use for tea – steep the flowers in boiled water for a few minutes.

- It is definitely worth planting up a pot or two of chamomile to go with outdoor cucumbers and tomatoes – they are quite good at deterring aphids…
