Kale – Red Russian (Autumn)

One of our favourite vegetables to grow for the winter!

You get really lovely tones of colour on this kale plant as it grows, making it a very attractive addition to your veg patch, and of course it’s uber healthy too and easy to grow. It is a great grower for autumn/winter, and will provide you with lots of lovely leaves right through to spring. It will tolerate frosts and even snow, although its growth will slow down in such cold temperatures. On milder autumn and winter days it’ll keep on growing. In the kitchen: Red Russian Kale is the sweetest of the kale types. An incredibly nutritious vegetable, it can be enjoyed steamed, baked in a gratin or used in stir-fries, stews or even smoothies.
