Wild Bergamot is a beautiful North American wild flower with a strong scent and very attractive lavender coloured flowers. It can grow to approximately 1m in height. It normally flowers from July to September, so you may get a few blooms this year.

How to Plant Bergamont
- These plants are well suited to beds and borders in a nice sunny spot.
- Bergamot grows fairly tall, sometimes to 1m, so plant at the back, and in clumps for better effect.
- Plant 40-50cm apart
- Choose moisture-retentive soil that does not become waterlogged in winter.
How to Grow Bergamont
- Keep them watered during dry spells
- For longer flowering time, deadhead regularly.
- Cut back to 5cm above ground level at the end of autumn.
- Every three years, carefully lift the plants and divide in two at the roots, then replant
How to Harvest Bergamont
- Harvest leaves as you want to use them during the summer months.
- Steep the leaves in boiled water to make a herbal tea.

- Wild Bergamot will certainly attract a lot of bees to your plot, so in that respect is a very good addition to the veg garden.
