How to Plant Lingonberry
- Plant Lingonberries in pots or raised beds, 50cm apart.
- They are best in moist well-drained acidic soil (a pH of 4.0 – 5.5 is ideal) or ericaceous compost.
- If growing in pots, choose a fairly large pot with good drainage. You may need to re-pot as the plant grows.
- Choose a sunny site, sheltered from strong winds.
How to Grow Lingonberry
- During the first growing season expect your plant to need watering daily. As it establishes this can be reduced, so in later years it will only need a thorough drench once or twice a week during prolonged dry spells in summer.
- Cut plants back lightly during the winter to keep them compact and bushy.
- Mulch with an ericaceous compost in autumn or early spring.
How to Harvest Lingonberry
- Flowers will appear in spring, berries will be ready to harvest in late summer/early autumn.
- Harvest before the first frosts.
